Want to add some personal touches to your home for only a few dollars? Try these ideas on for some added style on a budget.
Window treatments
If you already have curtains but you want to jazz them up a bit, try what this season’s HGTV Design Star participant “Dan” did on this week’s show. Add a large “stripe” of fabric to simple, purchased drapes to add contrast and texture. Even if you don’t sew, there are other options such as fabric glue and iron-on tape.
Wall decor
Another thing I love about this room is the art — particularly the whales. This is Dan’s interpretation of a Cape Cod inspired, nautical-themed nursery. When considering how to add your own personal touch, add a painting to the wall. If your bravery stops short of free-hand painting, consider painting a canvas (which only costs a few dollars including the paints) or even easier, use wall decals.
